Privacy Policy

minmini is a personal astrology app: it builds your birth chart, daily readings, tarot, compatibility readings, and palm readings from real astronomical data and the details you give us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.

minmini is operated by Thinkmakr Ltd (“minmini”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), the data controller for the information described here. This policy covers our website (minmini.app) and our mobile app, together our “Services”. By using the Services you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

The information we collect

We collect information you give us, and a small amount that is collected automatically.

Information you give us

  • Account details. You sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time code sent to your email. We receive your email address (or, with Apple, a private relay address if you choose one) and the name you give us. We do not use passwords.
  • Your birth details. Your birth date, your birth time (if you know it), and your birth place. From the place we derive approximate coordinates and a time zone so we can calculate your chart. Your birth time and place are encrypted (see Security).
  • People you add (Bonds). When you create a compatibility reading, you give us another person’s name, your relationship to them, and their birth details. Please read “People you add” below before adding someone.
  • Your reflections. Journal entries, moods, intentions, questions you ask, and feedback you give on readings. This content can be personal, so we treat it with care and rely on your consent to process it.
  • Palm readings. If you use the palm reading, your device captures a photo of your palm. The photo is analysed only to detect general features (such as the major lines and their shape), and we do not store the photo. We keep only the resulting coarse descriptors, which are encrypted. These descriptors are not biometric identifiers and cannot be used to identify you.
  • Purchases. If you buy minmini Gold or a one-time reading, the purchase is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive your subscription or purchase status and a pseudonymous purchase identifier. We never receive your card number.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data. Basic technical information such as your device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, and IP address, plus diagnostics if a crash or error occurs.
  • Notifications. If you turn on notifications, we store a notification token and identifier, your time zone, and the delivery time you choose, so we can send your daily reading and your bedtime note.

We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not run any third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • calculate your birth chart and generate your readings;
  • personalize what you see, including building an internal picture of your preferences from your inputs and feedback so readings stay relevant over time;
  • send the notifications you have asked for, such as your daily reading and bedtime note;
  • provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • keep readings safe and appropriate (for example, screening readings to avoid fatalistic or distressing language);
  • operate, secure, debug, and improve the Services and prevent misuse or fraud; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you using only automated means.

Our legal bases (UK and EU users)

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to create your account and provide the readings and features you ask for.
  • Consent: to send notifications, and to process the more personal content you choose to add, such as your moods, journal, intentions, and the people you add. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the Services secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve our features, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context advertising. We share information only as follows.

Service providers

We share personal information with service providers and subcontractors as needed to run the Services. Each receives only what it needs for its task, and only to act on our instructions. We use them to:

  • run, host, operate, secure, and maintain the Services through third-party platforms and software tools;
  • send the notifications you have turned on;
  • process purchases and manage subscriptions; and
  • provide technical and customer support.

Legal, safety, and business transfers

  • We may disclose information to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others.
  • If minmini is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

People you add (Bonds)

A compatibility reading needs another person’s name and birth details. By adding someone, you confirm that you have a proper basis to provide their information to us for this purpose. Please only add details you are entitled to share, and consider telling the person that you have done so.

If you are someone whose details have been added by another user and you would like to access or remove that information, contact us at [email protected] and we will help.

International data transfers

We are based in the United Kingdom. Some of our providers are located outside the UK, including in the United States (for example, our hosting, notification, and billing providers). This means your information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries whose data protection laws differ from those in your country.

Where we transfer personal information out of the UK or EU, we put appropriate safeguards in place where required, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more detail using the contact details below.

How we protect your information

We take security seriously. We encrypt your most sensitive details at the application layer, namely your birth time and place, the people you add, and your palm reading data, so they are not readable directly in our database. Other information is held in our access-controlled database and sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information from our systems, and related records held by us are removed automatically. Your palm photo is never stored, so there is nothing to delete there.

We keep a minimal record of deletion requests so we can show that a deletion took place, and we may retain limited information for longer where the law requires it (for example, records relating to purchases).

You can delete your account and data at any time from within the app, on the account or settings screen. If you cannot do this in the app, email [email protected] and we will action it for you.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information: to access it, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent you have given.

To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app delete option or contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within the time required by law.

If you are in the UK or EU and you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk. We would, however, welcome the chance to address your concerns first.

Children

minmini is not intended for children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to use it. Where your local law sets a higher age of digital consent, that higher age applies. The palm reading is for adults only, and you must confirm that you are 18 or older to use it.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will provide a more prominent notice. Please review this page from time to time.
